Minutes of the General Body Meeting – 17.03.2019

The Annual General Body meeting of VNSM was held on 17.03.2019 in Community Center, Sector 19 at 5.00 P.M.    The day was chosen to hold this meeting since the VNSM also decided to organize a KAVI SAMMELAN on the eve of Holi Festival in coordination with the Raashtriya Panchnad Society, Faridabad and Guru Sewak Sangh who had offered to bear expenses on remuneration to the KAVIS as also for the dinner of our members and other participants. Due to this bigger program, it was considered to keep the meeting brief and that no policy decision taken in the meeting.

In his opening remarks the President while welcoming members present, extended the greetings to all the members present the compliments of Holi Festival. He also explained some of the significant activities like two short duration tour to Goa, organization of Health Check up camp etc.  Since the new Body was completing its first year, the General Secretary made a brief presentation before the members about the work so far done during this year including the transparency in day-to-day activities of the Manch. 

Tour to Goa:

  

Shri S.K.Thakkar, Vice President explained about the tour to Goa(3 nights/4days) during February, 2019 to the members and shared his experience with the members about the manner in which everyone enjoyed the trip, how due care was given to everybody etc.  23 members of the VNSM participated in this tour.  In fact, keeping in view the cost of the tour and the facilities made available, there was a general feeling that such tours may be organized regularly. 

Tour to Europe  

It was also informed that the next tour will be conducted to European countries namely, UK, France, Switzerland, Austria and Italy from 11.05.2019 to 25.5.2019 for which Shri Dinesh Garg has been made the Coordinator.  Shri Dinesh Garg informed that preparations are going on, tickets have been booked.  The travel agent is in the process of booking hotels in the countries of visit and other formalities like preparation of visa etc. About 31 participants from the members of VNSM and their family including two kids have given their consent to take part in the proposed tour.

Sports for Members:  

As already decided in the last meeting, competitions of Chess, Carrom, Brisk Walk, Playing Cards and Musical Chair were organized from 19-20 January, 2019. Shri KC Chakravarty, Executive Committee Member coordinated the events very successfully.  His concerted efforts made bringing the Executives of District Carrom and Chess Organisations on board to organize the events of Carrom and Chess which was a unique experience for the Working Committee of VNSM. Prizes(trophies) were distributed among the winners and runners up for all the sports on the last day of event i.e. 20.1.2019.  Since adequate nominations for musical chair competition were not received, this competition was organized for the fun sake only. 

Details of income and expenditure account were displayed on board by the Finance Secretary, Shri R.K.Miglani.  Since every body was eager for the Kavi Sammelan, the meeting was concluded with the note that all would enjoy the program.

The Kavi Sammelan ran upto 9.00 p.m. and all the members some of whom were accompanied by their families, enjoyed.  It was seen that quite a good number of local residents including women and children, and persons from other areas also came to witness the program.  At the end of program, Shri S.K.Thakker, Vice President, VNSM extended the vote of thanks to the office bearers of Guru Sewak Sangh, Faridabad, Rashtriyaa Panchnad Society, Faridabad, for their generous will in bearing the expenditure on Kavi Sammelan and Dinner for the participants.  The Office Bearers assured that they would be pleased to collaborate with VNSM in future programs also  if there are initiatives from VNSM.
