International Elder's Day Celebrations

Varishth Nagrik Sewa Manch clebrated International Elder's Day on 6th October, 2024 at Community Centre, Sector-19, Faridabad.

Shri B.D. Gera, General Secretary in his opening address welcomed Super Senior Members who have crossed age of 80 years between 1.10.2023 to 30.9.2024, Governing Boby Members and all present during the meeting. He briefed about the program. Two minutes silence was observed to pay homage to recently departed souls of our Members. 

Shri J.M. Sharma in his presidential address mentioned that age is just a number and should not be barrier in our joy of living life to full extent as only less than 1% people in India cross the barrier of 80 years. For this one must have some passion, interest or hobby like, Reading, Writing, Gardening, Music, Spirtulism, Social Welfare and so on to pursue and relish the same to extend life span.

Shri S.K. Thakkar, Chief Petron while endorsing the views of Shri J.M. Sharma mentioned that he recently met a 106 year old person in Gadh Muketeshwar who has spent his life for social cause being his passion. He added that optimistic view towards life enhances life span and one must concentrate on good things happening around us rather than worrying about future.

Mr. Sunil Kumar, President RWA and a Special Invitee by notification, got emotional during his address and mentioned that most of the Members of VNSM are Members of  RWA also and their needs and priorities are same and  in his capacity he is always there to help them.

Shri M.L. Gupta was not present during the meeting so he was honoured at this residence.

Mrs. Neelam Jain was not present during the meeting as she was not feeling well.

In order of gratitude to RWA for financial assistance to VNSM for this program, both President Shri Sunil Kumar and General Secretary Shri Ajay Narwat  were felicitated by Office Bearers of VNSM.

Shri N.L. Khurana, Super Senior Member also addressed the members and mentioned that he is one of the Founding Members of VNSM and how the activities of VNSM were carried out in those days. He expressed his happiness about the activities of VNSM.



There after Shri B.D. Gera, General Secretary handed over the floor to Shri Mohinder Kumar, AGS for conducting the musical program. This musical program was showcasing of  in house talent of Members.

Total Expenditure on the event was roughly Rs.23,500/= subject to correction.

Lunch was served to all present and Meeting ended with vote of  Thanks by the Chair Person.
