Varishth Nagrik Sewa Manch celebrated “Elders Day” on 7th
October, 2018 at Community Center, Sector-19, Faridabad . Shri Amarjeet Singh Lamba,
President, Rotary Club (Mid Town) Faridabad
as Chief Guest and Dr. GP Bhagat, General Secretary, Guru Vishram Vridh Ashram
as Guest of Honour along with Shri JP Malhotra, Chief Patron, Shri SR Tewatia,
Patron, Shri JM Sharma, President, Shri
Dinesh Garg, President, RWA, Shri HS Malik, Chairman Distt. Juvenile Court
etc. were present at dais to grace the
occasion.
Shri BD Gera, General Secretary initiated the program with Prayer
“Tera Mangal, Tera Mangal, Tera Mangal Hoye Re”. Thereafter, two minutes
silence was observed in honour of departed soul of Shri RD Taneja, senior VNSM
Member.
The program proceeded with address by Shri JM Sharma, President. Shri JM Sharma, President welcoming the Guests and fellow Senior
Citizens said Age is merely a number and should in any way not affect the life
of a person. With friends around ageing stops automatically. Invitee Guests were honored by garlanding and presenting shawls.
Shri JP Malhotra, Chief Patron while addressing the audience not
only expressed his views but also made a brief intro of Chief Guest Shri
Amarjeet Singh Lamba. Shri Malhotra expressed his happiness over the activities
of VNSM and wished the nine super seniors members who were to be felicitated on
the occasion of ELDERS’ DAY a happy and healthy life. He also mentioned key role of Rotary Club of
Faridabad Mid Town in serving the society and efforts to helping the needy
including schools, women, senior citizens, old age homes financially as well as
for various.
Shri Lamba in his speech said he was obliged to see in the
gathering, all experienced personalities from different working backgrounds and
finding himself short of words for any address. He said that everybody will
agree with him that every person at this stage of life needs regard, time and
care from his/her children nothing more. Collective effort in any field can do
miracles and charity is not an exception.
Shri SK Thakkar, Vice President while introducing Dr.GP Bhagat,
Guest of Honour who has got doctorate from BHU could have chosen to serve
abroad on handsome salaries but he chose to
work for the needy persons who have been left on the roads and streets
by their family members.
Dr. GP Bhagat in his address said that if God exist anywhere on
earth it is in one's Parents only. He himself feels inspired by his father who
is reaching 100 years and worships him daily.
He said that they are running two Vridh Ashrams one near Delhi and other
at Garhmukteshwar with hospital, ICU, pathological facilities etc. They have never
felt shortage of funds as God sends the donars at the time of need. In order to serve the ailing discarded
persons they hire best medical facilities for the needy persons in their
Vishram Vridhasharam at Garh Muketeshwar.
He added their Van circles around Delhi Roads and lifts any persons
found abandoned and in need of help and later he is shifted to Garh
Muketeshwar. If anyone desires to help
their cause then if any one finds any such
person on road, help him to bring to them and we will take care of him.
He said he would have been delighted if younger ones would have been
celebrating this elder day for their parents.
Super Senior Citizens who have attained 80 years of age as on
30.9.2018 were felicitated by garlanding and giving shawls & Samman Patra through the dignitaries present.
Thereafter Shri BD Gera handed over the stage to Shri Pawan Lal Arora and Party who were hired
for giving a musical program for entertainment of the members of VNSM. The
program was very much enjoyed by all the present and lasted till 10.30PM. Members present not only enjoyed the
melodious songs (many of which were sung on their request) but also rocked when
a dance number was presented.

Celebrations came to halt with vote of thanks to all those who
worked for the success of programme including President Rotary Club of
Faridabad Midtown for arranging such a beautiful musical evening.
VNSM is thankful to Honourable Guests, Super Senior Citizens, the
individuals/organisations who helped financially, President RWA, Sector 19,
Members of VNSM who were present in 160 plus numbers to grace the occasion.
VNSM is also thankful to “Center for Sight” for distributing FREE CHECK UP COUPENS at
their hospital to the members present.
