The General Body meeting of VNSM was held on 23.12.2018 in Community Center, Sector 19 at 11.00 A.M. In his opening remarks the President extended New Year (2019) greetings to the members of VNSM and welcomed everyone present. He also explained some of the significant activities like two short duration tours, Elders’ Day Celebrations, two Health Check up camps together with YOGA SHIVIR on International Yoga Day. The President also extended his gratitude to President, RWA, Sector 19 for coming forward to help financially for Elders’ Day Celebrations.
While discussing the regular agenda, General Secretary also informed the members present about the activities since taking over in April, 2018 including the transparency in day-to-day activities of the Manch.
Tours during 2019 : Shri S.K.Thakkar, Vice President explained about the proposed tour to Goa(3 nights/4days) during February, 2019 including the cost of the tour and other details and requested members to indicate their intent for participating the proposed journey to Goa. Some of the members enquired about the cost and minute details of the cost which were clarified by Sh.Thakkar. One member apprehended that the cost of tour appears high to which it was informed that the proposal has been mooted after studying various offers on internet, however, if the members concerned still feels that low cost tour offers are available he may come up by 24.12.2018 after which action will be taken on the present proposal.
Details about the tour abroad for tour to Europe were explained by Shri Dinesh Garg who has been made coordinator for tours abroad. He presented two offers for visiting six-seven countries of Central Europe and finally it appeared that members were interested for tour which included London besides other countries of Central Europe namely, France, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Vetican etc involving 14 Nights/15 days duration with an approximate cost of Rs.2.40 lakh per head. Interested members may indicate their intent alongwith advance money to Shri Dinesh Garg. The organizer of the tour was Globlized Yatra with whom VNSM have already organized more than 10 tours during the past few years.
Sports for Members: The details of sports to be organized in January, 2019 were explained by General Secretary and all the members were requested to indicate their intent to Shri KC Chakravarty, Executive Committee Member between 5 and 10.1.2019. The details of nomination fee, procedure, names of the games were given in the circular which was displayed on the Notice Board. It was also desired by President to give wide publicity to the circular by placing on VNSM Website, Whatsap groups of VNSM Members etc. The games will be held on 19-20.1.2019 followed by Prize Distribution on 26.1.2019. Keeping in view the expenditure on the event, the members were informed that talks for finding out a sponsor are in progress and Governing Body was hopeful of some positive results.
A two days Yog Shivir will be held in February, 2019 for which Shri P.C.Gupta, Vice President was requested to make arrangements. It was also a demand from some of the participants. Publicity about the Shivir will be done by suitable banners.
Finally, in the interaction session, some of the members sang songs/poems. ALPAHAAR was served at the end of the meeting. The meeting ended with a vote of thanks to the Chair.
